Long Shirt Look

Shirt:  BCBG  Jeans:  Urban Outfitters
Bag:  Louis Vuitton (old)  Heels:  Dior (old)

Happy Summer!  Oh, how I miss my fashion posts.  Do you guys miss it too?  I bought this long shirt from BCBG because they’re closing permanently.  I was pretty shocked when I heard about it, but anyhow, I managed to score something I like.

I’m very sad to see so many retailers closing in 2017.  I guess e-commerce and the rapid growth of Amazon have an impact.  I’m guilty of both.  Lol.

I’m going on vacation in a few days.  Find me on Instagram to see what I will be doing.  Hope you all have a great summer and if I have time, I will throw in a post while I’m on vacation.

My Collection: Vintage Bags

Remember how I told you I’m decluttering my clothes and downsizing my handbag collection.  I’m still in the process of doing it, and it might take me a while because I have SO MANY.  My goal is to have a carefully-curated collection of classic handbags.

I sold quite a few bags and I’m telling you, I don’t know what I was thinking back then.  I mean, if I didn’t buy all those bags, I would have enough money to put down payments on two houses!!  And you know how expensive the housing market it is in Vancouver.  Okay, okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but definitely on one condo.  Hehe.

Anyway, there are some bags I have trouble parting and I’d like to share them with you today.  I like to refer to them as vintage since they are older than 10 years and also old enough to be in fashion again.  Well, you know what I mean.

This is a vintage Chanel bag I bought from Malleries.  I always wanted a beige colour Chanel in my collection.  I don’t use this bag very often but I do like it.  It is very roomy and it looks very good either dressed up or down.
As seen here, this bag works perfectly with this neutral outfit.

I love this Dior clutch.  I don’t remember where I bought this but I remember it wasn’t that expensive, maybe less than $150.  Honestly, I haven’t used this bag in a long time, but I’m not ready to sell it yet.

Less is More

It took me more than four decades to comprehend the saying “less is more” and I’m referring to my clothes.  It all started when I was cleaning my rather messy but organized (yes there is such a thing) bedroom.  It came to the point that I ran out of room to store my clothes (I already have 6 bins excluding my overflowing closet).  My cheeky son walked into my room and declared that if I don’t do anything about it, my room will turn into a landfill.  Now, that’s SCARY!!  I mean, I’m terrified of garbage let alone a landfill.  But yeah, that was the turning point.

So, I’ve been donating and consigning my clothes and I am down to two bins so far.  My goal this year is to declutter my house including my books, photos, and jewelry.  Needless to say, I feel liberated now that I have less stuff.

I’ve read so many blogs about creating a capsule wardrobe such as this post.  I also referred to this book a lot, when I get stuck on how to organize my clothes.  It feels so good to step back from my endless cycle of fashion trends (hence the lack of fashion posts).  I don’t feel obligated to buy new clothes.  I’ve been saving money and will only buy classic pieces especially when it comes to handbags.  How about you guys?  Any strategy on minimizing your closet?

Bye for Now

Hi loyal friends, just letting you know that I’ve decided to take a break from blogging.  Are you surprised or expected?  I feel like it’s something common in the blogging world.

Of course, there are many reasons, but primarily, I’m losing focus and interest.  I feel like blogging is like a never-ending task.  Lately, I don’t have the desire to get dressed up and do a fashion post BUT fashion is the only thing I’m passionate about.

I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years!!!  Holy crap, that’s the longest job I’ve ever had.  No joke.  I love fashion.  I love inspiring.  But with a full-time job and two teens, it’s not feasible to blog as often as I wish.

Therefore, I’m taking an indefinite break from blogging.  Seriously, I don’t know when I will come back, but I know for sure that I indeed need one now.  In the meantime, I will be spending time doing things that I’ve been putting off like cleaning up the basement, organizing my clothes and accessories, and sadly, exercising.  Hahaha.

I have to give a huge shout out to a few people that are important in my blogging life.  First and foremost, Thank you to Kim (A Very Sweet Blog).  Kim followed me pretty early in my blogging days.  She read every single post and leave thoughtful comments.  I don’t know if I would have blogged for this long if it wasn’t for her support.  THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, Kim and I still need to meet you one day!

Thank you to Shireen (Reflection of Sanity) and Little Luxury List (sorry don’t know your name).  They were both sent over to my blog via Kim’s blog.  I can honestly say they are nothing but supportive.

Thank you to Whitney (Macarons and Mischief).  She’s another sweet girl.  I don’t remember how I stumbled upon her blog or vice versa.  She lives in Vancouver too, so I’ll definitely need to meet up with her someday.

Thank you to my sisters who often visited my blog and leave the kindest words ever.

A GINORMOUS THANK YOU to my photographers aka my oldest son (who takes 80% of my photos) and my husband.  Without them, I will not have sustained this blog for so long.

Last but not least, THANK YOU to all my readers!  It has been a truly amazing ride.  I will return once I regain my enthusiasm.

P.S.  If you still want to see a glimpse of my life, follow me on Instagram and Twitter.

Happy First Day of May!  I love blazers and I just realized I don’t know many women who wear blazers.  My sisters, friends, co-workers – they rarely wear blazers.  Is it because it’s too dressy?  I’m not quite sure.  Have a beautiful day!
