I love watching any live performances especially concerts. They’re so much fun!
But this time I’m sharing my experiences at the Cavalia Odysseo show. My co-worker recommended that I should see Cavalia because she’d seen it and she loved it! Before taking her suggestion, I researched online and there were mostly positive reviews so I decided to watch the show. I went with my sister and my son (who loves horses). Boy, my co-worker was right! It was so much fun and worth every penny!
Nick loves making faces!
I bought the VIP packages which included the meal buffet. I didn’t think much of the buffet but surprisingly it was extremely delicious and healthy too. It also included wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks.
Our lanyards included a free chipotle spread from Save On Foods. I have yet to pick it up.
So excited for the show! Before the show, there were a few Q&A which were fun and informative. There are 65 horses (13 of which are stallions) and 48 performers.
Since we’re not allowed to take photos of the show, I took some pictures from the booklet they gave us. It’s exactly what’s in the show. The show was 2 hours with a 30 minute intermission.
The set is so beautiful and they also have live musicians. The female singer was incredible. And look at that full-size classic carousel which descended from the ceiling – so beautiful and ethereal.
The horses were magnificent and well-trained. And I just adored the elegant and elaborate costumes.
The gymnasts were my favourite performers. They bought so much energy into the show. They performed backflips, frontflips, cartwheels, and tumbling. All of them were truly amazing. All the gymnasts are in top physical shape and I can’t keep my eyes off their abs.
My other favourite part was the finale set. They filled the stage with 40,000 gallons of recycled water and the horses ran through the water. The backdrop was really beautifully done and realistic looking.
Some beautiful artworks for sale in the theatre.
Yummy desserts buffet during the intermission. If it wasn’t for the buffet, I thought the intermission is a bit too long. Fifteen minutes is more than sufficient for an intermission.
The performers came out to sign autographs and take pictures.
By the way, it was snowing a bit during the intermission.
After the show, we headed to the stable for a tour (included in the VIP package).
So cute how their manes are braided.
Fun fact: My son doesn’t like to take pictures but he requested to take a pic with the horses because it’s his second favourite animal next to dogs.
This is me trying to do a selfie with the horse and clearly, I was kinda scared. Lol
I highly recommend this show if you love horses and if you don’t love horses, you WILL after the show. For those who are not into horses at all, you will love the acrobatic parts. It was truly a magical evening! For those who’s intending to watch the show, I think it’s relatively safe to buy the cheapest tickets (unless you’re buying the VIP package). It’s quite a small venue, so it’s nice and intimate. Hope you enjoy this post and have a great day!
